Another day well spent. Don's stretched on the bed telling me that he is finally adjusted -- that he has more energy, etc... I'd believe him more if he bounced up and headed to the shower.
He and Dave had a good day. The cabinets and sink are in, nine doors are hung. Tomorrow they will set locks on them and start on cubbies and closet rods.
I rode with Sally today, as she shopped for groceries -- Fruit & Veg (which is just as it sounds), Pick & Pay which is a little like a West Michigan grocery, except for the street vendors in the parking lot selling oranges and tomatoes and shoes. Oh, and you pay someone to 'guard' your car while you shop. I wished I had my camera to photograph the bakery. Kathy, it does not compare to Casey's, but they do make terrific meat pies.
After lunch Sally was doing the school bus run. As I cleaned up the dishes, Mama Margaret stopped in with her two-year-old Harry. We chatted a bit about family, marriage and Malachi 2:15 which so clearly states that God's purpose for a godly marriage is to produce godly offspring.
Twenty-year-old Margaret and her family are immigrants from Zimbabwe. Her husband Arnold is three hours away in Johannesburg, looking for work and it seemed important to remind her that God values marriage and family. Please pray for Margaret and Arnold.
I'm attaching a photo for Marilyn Coddington. The rest of you may enjoy it, too. :) Every week Sally goes out front with a table and a clip board and some treats. If the children did well with their ACE schoolwork, they get rewarded. She likes to act so tough, and she does have authority. But, all the children know where to go for love and affection...
After supper, Dave, Don and Phil went back to the flat. That Phil is such a slave driver! I think he's a bit giddy to have Don and Dave with him, working on his projects and getting so much finished.
Thanks for thinking of us and all these very special sheep that the Good Shepherd is gathering close to each other and to Himself.
Judy
